More people would ride if they could get around wherever they are. Downtowns, Longfellow, Northeast, Mac-Groveland, Highland, the list goes on and on. Many neighborhoods are well-served by a linear route (University, Uptown) but there are many more that need loops. In Mac-Groveland, their neighborhood council study showed 75% of the car trips are in the neighborhood, but when you are picking up dry cleaning, milk, books, art supplies and even take-out pizza, you don't always want to walk, and taking the bus is not currently an option! With loops, I don't think they probably need to be full-size buses either. Imagine being able to get around downtown Mpls on your lunch hour!

Grand Avenue is one ST PAUL premier shopping district area but have  disappointing transit services as long as hourly gaps  .The bus used to run every 20mins daily (sunday30mins).One would think METC would market to the many Colleges nearby on this bus route. The Colleges are building parking ramps instead of housings.

Better on services  on ST PAUL Grand Avenue #63 which have several colleges with over 10000 students and many apts drop to hourly at nights and Sundays .

The fast urban express #94 run more frequent on weekends.

Coverage on Grand is JOKE on weekends one would think the servcies would be better with many students attending the 5 colleges on this route OVER 10000 students attend these colleges.Hourly on Sunday is a disservice for the riders.

You can see these paratransit options in Tempe orbit and Phoenix Az.

They have a  small free or cheap fare vans which drive around the neighboor hood.

In an ironic twist they use these too get you to the mass transit. Becuase transit may be upto .5 mile away easily.

So sounds like some paratransit could be used here.
